EU Code Week

This week, we will be celebrating EU Code Week.  Children at Lathom will use resources to help interact with coding and digital literacy in a fun and engaging way.

Many schools across the UK and Europe will be joining in this celebration, making it a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with their peers in the UK and different countries.

In-class assemblies will cover the importance of coding, especially in our rapidly changing world where technology plays a crucial role in nearly every aspect of our lives.  Understanding coding not only fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills but will empower our pupils to be active participants in shaping the future, rather than just passive consumers of technology.

In addition to the assembly, children will complete a home learning task.  This assignment aims to encourage them to explore coding beyond the classroom using the program, Scratch code a ‘dot block’.
