On Wednesday 22d February, 6 children (from Year 5) were selected to attend the annual Junior Re Conference. The theme for 2023 was ‘True Humanity’, and children were given the opportunity to engage in a Philosophy for Children (P4C) lesson. The session equipped pupils with thinking about building strong diverse communities. The pupils were probed to think about what religions, and worldviews, say about how we should live well in our world. The pupils were also given opportunities to express their thinking creatively through the use of the arts, where they designed an egg basket with key quotes about how to build a cohesive community. They reflected on sayings about building communities from different religions and discussed how these sayings contribute to our society today.
