This year, Mental Health Awareness Week is observed from Monday 15th May to Sunday 21st May 2023. A focus on anxiety this year will raise awareness and understanding of anxiety and provide coping strategies.
Teachers at Lathom spent time discussing the term, anxiety and different ways to cope with feelings of anxiety. Some of these coping mechanisms include: focusing on breathing; exercise, keeping a diary and getting quality sleep and rest.
Year 6 students created posters and slides presentations to sensitise others about considering coping strategies for dealing with anxiety.
On Thursday 18th May, students and staff were encouraged to go GREEN and wear GREEN for Mental Health.
