Mummifying a tomato

This term,  Year 5 students applied their learning about how Ancient Egyptians mummified people through instructional writing.  First, they recreated the mummification process using a tomato to gain an in-depth understanding of the process.  This lesson enabled children to develop their listening and speaking skills.

Overall, this lesson was a success as children were able to transfer their learning when writing their instructional piece – how to mummify an Egyptian body.
