National Windrush Day on 22nd June 2023 will mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the passengers of the Empire Windrush to the UK. The day is aimed at celebrating the Windrush generation and their contributions to British society.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary, local councils and community groups have made their own programme of events. Our borough, Newham has also put forward an extensive programme from Windrush Day and throughout the summer. These events include art exhibitions, talks, workshops and music from local artists.
