Year 5 Visit to the William Morris Gallery

On Tuesday 16th April, Year 5 students visited the William Morris Gallery.  During our visit, we learnt that the building was Morris’ home after his father passed away. We first were reminded of the pieces of art that William Morris made such as wallpapers, textiles, tapestries, carpets and many more. Also, we discovered that the room we were in used to be the servants’ quarters.

For our activity, we were split into two groups.  The first group created printed cards (which was inspired by William Morris). Then, the second group of students had a tour based on some of his creations and what his life was like.

Overall, it was a wonderful learning experience!
