The school councillors participated in the Letters to London online workshop and received a Game Changer Grant from the Mayor of London for youth-led community action.
The programme is based on engaging young people in social action through their schools. The programme encourages and supports young people to tackle local issues that they care about. The children wrote persuasive letters on how the grant could support their project on homelessness and how much of a difference the grant could make in the local community!
In addition, the school councillors took part in the Big Build 2023 workshop where they designed a new invention guided by an Imperial College Mentor.
Well done to Aabisha Yugan from Elder class, where her invention will be displayed at the prestigious Great Exhibition Road Festival in the summer, as part of The Great Exhibition² Programme. A final winner will be selected and receive a special prize. Good luck Aabisha!
