In our PSHE lesson, we learnt about our differences and how we shouldn’t change our appearance for anyone. We also learnt that we mustn’t trust everything that we see on the internet. As an example, our teacher displayed an image of a famous celebrity with and without makeup, side by side. We also watched a video made by Dove to show many teenagers’ perspective on wearing makeup to change their identity.
For our activity, we all took selfies of ourselves, placed them on different tables and took post-it-notes to write down kind comments to other children in our class. At the end of the lesson, this made all of us feel more confident and glad that people have given us nice comments even if we don’t talk to them as often.
