This term, Year 5 students explored bread making as part of Food Technology. In groups, they designed, made and evaluated their product. In addition, they reflected on the importance of following instructions for bread making as this was also the genre studied in writing lessons.
Children enjoyed weighing ingredients, sieving flour and yeast, and also overcame the challenge of kneading dough. The most rewarding part was when they tasted their product and completed an evaluation. This is an important life skill that they could continue to develop at home with their families.
