Pakistan Flood Relief Fundraiser

Last week, Miss Clairmont and the charity team at Lathom Junior School organised a range of activities to raise funds for our fellow brothers and sisters in Pakistan, following the flooding crisis. The week involved consulting local businesses for donations, preparing and selling tickets, and volunteering in various activities.

On Friday 4th November, the whole school came together to show support for Pakistan. It was a non-uniform day and we wore green and white to reflect the colours of the Pakistani flag. What a sight to behold! ‘A sea of green at Lathom!’ We had balloon making, cake selling, face painting, mehndi, plant selling, rangoli art, mojito and mango drinks, photo frame photography and of course, the raffle tickets sold like ‘hotcakes.’

Thanks for the wonderful donations by our local businesses: Sainsburys, Tesco Pilgrims Way Express, The Works, Iceland, and Applecart Arts. A massive thank you to our school councillors, our staff members and parents who fully supported this event. We raised a whopping £1,500! Every penny will be going to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), who are working directly or with local partners to help save lives.
