Spring term for Year 3’s writing unit began with an immersive experience with the Stone Age theme. A carousel of activities motivated and engaged students, there was an exploration about a caveman’s diet with a range of berries, legumes, flowers and honey, an Artefact table including flints and arrows, a building activity with clay, sticks, straw and coconut matting which produced amazing dwelling huts and caves from the children and a research table with interactive QR codes that enabled the children to experience a virtual museum tour in their own classrooms! The experience enabled children to complete learning booklets where they placed photos of their cave paintings. Much fun was had by all, teachers and students alike!
