This term, the whole school will be participating in ‘The Big Draw’. This unit will focus on one topic to create some amazing and inspirational artwork.
Year 4 students have been introduced to the Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt and discussed one of his most famous pieces, ‘The Tree of Life’. After examining images, children painted trees in black and white and then pasted a coloured leaf onto the treescape.
The lesson ended on a reflective note as children evaluated their work in a mini-class gallery, focussing on the contrast between the coloured leaf and the black and white background.
